Willingham and Jacobs are going to share

Fredi is going to start the season with a platoon system, if you will, for the role of cleanup hitter.

Manager Fredi Gonzalez said he probably will bat the first baseman Jacobs fourth and left fielder Josh Willingham fifth against right-handed starting pitchers. Against left-handed starters, Willingham will hit fourth and Jacobs fifth.

Fair enough, I'm willing to give anything a shot at the start of the season.  Just as along as he isn't married to idea.

The interesting thing is what is implied, in that Jacobs isn't going to be platooned on the days that lefties pitch.  Apparently going on the theory you don't learn how to hit southpaws sitting on the bench.  Should be interesting.
