Hanley was wisely kept out of action yesterday, but could return to the lineup today.
Manager Fredi Gonzalez said Ramirez probably could have played Thursday if it had been the regular season, but did not want to risk further injury by playing him in spring training.
Gonzalez and Ramirez said it's possible Ramirez could be in the lineup this afternoon.
Hanley already has 49 AB this spring training, most managers try to make sure the regulars get about 50 AB during the spring. He's done that. I'm starting to get the idea that Ramirez is one those guys you need to watch out for, since there is no way he is going to admit he isn't physically able to play. Fredi seems to know this and that is only a good thing.
I'm not sure whether the team is just going through those normal aches and pains that come with spring training or whether, much like Apollo 13, it's just going to be one of those seasons. Hopefully, the former.
