Flotsam and Jetsam

Depending on how fast I can type, Wednesday's edition may be longer than usual.  For you see, I have to be at work extremely early today.

So let's get to it:  Flotsam and Jetsam.

Dave Hyde gives his opinion why the Orange Bowl should be leveled.  It makes sense to me, especially if the Marlins come away with a stadium in the deal.  And even if the Marlins don't, if it is true that UM is the sole inhabiter of the stadium - why spend the money?

Eric Reed is once again in the hunt to be the center fielder.  There is no doubt he can handle the position defensively.  All that is required is that he can show he can hit in the bigs the way he hits in Triple-A and spring training.  It is possible he will get more plate appearances this season to prove what he can do.

Jeremy Hermida is starting the season off on the right foot, so to speak.  Also with the added bonus of having a conversation starter should he ever meet one of the members of Cirque du Soleil.  Assuming he speaks French, of course.

Logan Kensing, Dan Uggla and Jeremy Hermida gave it their best shots at being sushi chefs for charity.  From the sound of it, you won't be seeing any of them performing on the Food Network any time soon.

Matt Treanor and his lovely wife Misty spent the off-season riding an elephant.  To be completely precise, it was only the off-season for Matt - Misty spent her down time from elephant riding dominating the world of professional volleyball.

Finally, this for my sister, the Jason Wood fan, assuming she hasn't seen it already,  Jason Wood is looking for a break.  Why have a blog if you can't throw one to a family member every now and then.  But more than that, you may find it interesting too.

That is it for this Wednesday's edition of Flotsam and Jetsam.
