Game Today

Possibly the sweetest words in the English language are Game Today.  Okay, it probably ranks behind being told I Love You by your one true love.  But it is a close second.

Organized baseball begins again for the Fightin' Fish and I, for one, couldn't be happier.  And today it all begins - Yeaaa!

Today is the Marlins vs. the University of Miami Hurricanes.

The Marlins pitching lineup is slated to be: Chris Volstad, Paul Mildren and Aaron Thompson and Jacob Marceaux, Ryan Tucker, Gabby Hernandez, Henry Owens and Matt Lindstrom.

The Hurricanes will start RHP Alex Koronis and where they go from there, is anyone's guess.

Fredi has already announced his starting lineup for the game: Hanley Ramirez (SS), Dan Uggla (2B), Cabrera (DH), Josh Willingham (LF), Mike Jacobs (1B), Aaron Boone (3B), Jeremy Hermida (RF), Miguel Olivo (C) and Reggie Abercrombie (CF).

Normally, when a professional team plays a college team at the start of the spring the lineup is loaded with minor leaguers and the name players spend most of their time in the stands signing autographs.  Fredi has chosen a different tack and he is going with most of the "A" team, at least for a couple of innings.

Baseball is back!!!

Naturally, this is an open thread.
