Daisuke in the House

If you get a chance to go out to the spring training game on March 6, you will get to see the pitcher everyone is talking about.

The Red Sox announced Matsuzaka will make his exhibition debut March 2 against Boston College in Fort Myers. The first time through the rotation their starters pitch again on the fourth day. That means Matsuzaka would see his first Grapefruit League action against the Marlins on March 6 at Roger Dean Stadium.

Daisuke won't be a complete mystery to the team, it turns out that the Marlins had a scout in Japan last season.

One Marlin got an up close look at Matsuzaka in Japan last season. Joe Dillon was injured when his Yomiuri Giants faced Matsuzaka's Seibu Lions during interleague play. He saw plenty of talent from the dugout.

"He's the best guy over there so everybody knows about him," Dillon said. "I don't care where you come from. When you have his type of stuff, he's going to be tough. He'll throw any pitch at any time. ... It'll be interesting to see how he does this year."

Hopefully, Joe took some notes.

According to the article the game is already sold out, not a big surprise, but standing room tickets are still available.

On trivia note: the Red Sox open the season in Fenway against the Mariners and the first batter Dasiuke will face - Ichiro.  Do you think there will be any Japanese media present at the game?
