Hanley Ramirez wins the Sporting News Award

Ramirez wins the top NL shortstop honors.

After being named the 2006 National League Rookie of the Year, Hanley Ramirez has been voted by his peers as The Sporting News' top NL shortstop.

Just 23, Ramirez has already blossomed into one of the game's most versatile threats. In 2007 he batted .332 with 29 home runs, 81 RBIs, 51 stolen bases and a franchise-record 125 runs scored.

The Sporting News awards are voted on by the players themselves, so Ramirez collects his latest honor by winning the admiration of those who play the game.

Congratulations Hanley!
