The fines were handed down yesterday.
Pitchers Scott Olsen and Brian Moehler each received $750 fines for hitting batters in Philadelphia last weekend. Moehler said he intended to appeal his fine.
That's not too bad.
Hopefully the club will breakout the checkbook and write one for $1,500.
I'm not sure that Moehler's appeal will go well. Sure, he didn't actually hit the man, just the jersey. Unfortunately, he all but admitted, in the media, he was throwing at him.
But if he wants to appeal, go for it. You never know. It may be overturned. But I doubt it.
