Open Thread and Ichthyomancy: Marlins at Nationals (8/9)

New, 21 comments

The Marlins got the road trip off on the right foot last night and are looking to secure a series win tonight.

The Marlins starting pitcher is Dontrelle Willis.  The Nationals will counter with Ramón Ortiz.

Game time is 7:05 p.m.

Dontrelle rebounded from his worst start of the season to pitch a beauty in his last outing against the Mets.  Willis is somewhat strangely better on the road (3.06 ERA) than at home (5.29 ERA).

Ortiz in last outing against the Fish on July 19 pitched a great game only allowing a solo shot by Cody Ross.  It turned out that was enough offense for the Marlins to win the contest.  Ortiz is susceptible to the long ball giving up 8 home runs in his last 9 starts.

Ichthyomancy is ready for action.  Don't forget to get your picks in on time.
