The all-time pinch-hit leader, Lenny Harris, has a new gig.
I'm sure everyone remembers Lenny. He was with the club for the 2003 World Series win and set his record as a member of the Marlins. In deference to the Mets fans, he did break Mota's then existing record as a member of the Mets.
Harris was cut from the Marlins during spring training this year when the organization decided to go with the youth movement. He now has a new career in baseball.
Career pinch-hits record holder Lenny Harris was hired Wednesday by the Washington Nationals as their minor league roving infield instructor.
I have no doubt that Lenny will do fine job for the Nationals organization.
