The Marlins have two players to earn the NL Rookie of the Month of June honors.
If you will recall, Johnson won with the May honors with Uggla a close second. This month they get to share the award.
"I told you he was going to get it one of these days," said Johnson, the first player to win the award in back-to-back months since Pittsburgh Zach Duke in July and August 2005.
Johnson went 3-1 with a 1.78 ERA in four starts. Uggla batted.309 with seven home runs, 14 RBI and a.706 slugging percentage.
"It keeps adding to my year," said Uggla, who was named Sunday to the National League All-Star roster.
"Awards and the All-Star, that's just a bonus. It's not my main goal. I want to make the playoffs."
I would love for you to make your main goal. It is just going to be a rather difficult thing to do it this year. Maybe not impossible, but difficult. But if not this year, it could happen in the very near future.
