Vargas is on his way to Albuquerque.
The Marlins made a move after Saturday's game, sending left-hander Jason Vargas back to Triple A Albuquerque (N.M.) and calling up lefty Renyel Pinto for the first game of today's doubleheader. Pinto's stay could be a short one, though, because he's likely to be sent back down between games to clear a roster spot for Moehler.
Not a surprise, especially since his ERA has increased from 4.97 to 7.09 in the last month.
Vargas wasn't getting much work in the Majors and sending him down will allow the young pitcher a chance to log some innings instead of watching games from the bullpen.
