Open Thread and Ichthyomancy: Pirates at Marlins (7/21)

Last night looked good for a while but this is baseball and there is a reason we play 162 of these things.

Tonight the Marlins try it again.

The Marlins starting pitcher is Scott Olsen.  The Pirates rotation sends Paul Maholm to the mound.

Game time is 7:35 p.m.

Olsen has been pretty good his last 9 outings.  The problem in his last two starts is he throwing way too many pitches and only getting to the fifth inning.  Hopefully tonight, he will have pinpoint control.

Maholm is a lefty - that's the bad news.  The good news is the hitters should be able to put the ball in play.  While right-handed hitters do the best against him, lefties aren't far behind.  The interesting thing is he generally pitches left-handed hitters down and in.

Ichthyomancy is good to go.  While it's not an early game, I do recommend that everyone who isn't on vacation, which is about five of you, get your picks in early.
