Open Thread and Ichthyomancy: Red Sox at Marlins (7/01)

The Red Sox win streak is over.

If for some reason, and I can't think of one, the Marlins would like to break their unprecedented errorless streak - hit the ball to right side of the infield.  The left side knows how to play defense at our stadium.  Or anybody's stadium for that matter.

The starting pitcher for the Marlins is Big Moe.  The BoSox will send Tim Wakefield to the hill.

Game time is 6:05 p.m.

Moehler is at his best at home.  He has historically been very tough on the Red Sox with a lifetime record of 4-1 with an ERA of .343.

Wakefield is going to throw knuckle balls,  That is about his whole repertoire.  Given the heat and humidity expected for the game, the ball should be dancing.

I doubt if many, or any, of the players have seen this type of pitch before.  My recommendation is do not try to pull the ball, but instead go to the opposite field.

Ichthyomancy is in full gear.  Be sure to get your picks in on time.
