The NL Monthly Awards came out yesterday and though no Marlins were honored - a couple came close.
(Prince) Fielder on Tuesday was named the National League Rookie of the Month for April.
The Brewers' first-round draft selection in 2002, Fielder led all NL rookies with a .344 batting average, five home runs, 33 hits and 53 total bases during April. He collected 16 RBI and scored 15 runs while posting a .522 slugging percentage in 21 games.

Other rookies considered for the award included Josh Willingham and Hanley Ramirez of the Florida Marlins
April didn't workout - but some of our guys will win a few months during the season. This is assuming Cecil Fielder's kid doesn't continue on the pace he set last month. If he does, he can pick up his Rookie of the Year Award right before he picks up his NL MVP Award.
