Hermida is still a ways away

Jeremy Hermida is still progressing slowly and no firm time deadline has been set for his return to the club.

Both the Marlins and Jeremy Hermida are uncertain when the rookie outfielder will be healthy enough to return to the lineup.

''I'm going to take it day by day,'' said Hermida, who went on the disabled list April 12 because of a strained right hip flexor.

Hermida did some light jogging Tuesday and has been taking batting practice daily, but Girardi -- who originally said Hermida would return two weeks ago against Washington, then revised that to this weekend in Pittsburgh -- said he no longer would make predictions.

''He'll be here when he gets here,'' Girardi said.

There is no reason whatsoever to rush him back into action.  How ever long it takes is fine.  The only thing that is important is to get him healthy.
