Stocking the Pond via the Waiver Wire

Franklyn German is the newest member of the Marlins being claimed off waivers from Detroit.

The 26-year-old German went 4-0 with one save and a 3.66 ERA in 58 games with the Tigers last season. German has an 8-4 career mark with a 4.75 ERA in 126 relief appearances. German originally signed with Oakland as a non-drafted free agent on July 2, 1996. He was traded to the Tigers in 2002.

In order to make room for German on the 40-man roster, the Marlins optioned Nate Bump to the Isotopes. I thought Nate was sent down a few days ago but I have been out of touch so I may have missed something.

German is no stranger to the leader board in pitching stats.  In 2003 he tied for 10th in the number of wild pitches thrown.

Way to go Franklyn!

Just funning with ya, Welcome Aboard.

See ya soon Nate.
