Open Thread and Ichthyomancy: Padres at Marlins (4/11)

New, comments

It is the Home Opener!

The Marlins will send the League ERA leader to the mound, Sergio Mitre against the Padres' Woody Williams.

The game starts at the creative but unfortunate time of 4:05 p.m.

This will probably be the biggest home crowd of the year.  The fans are expected to number around 30,000. (Ichthyomancy hint)  A bit off the all-time record for the home opener of 57,405 against the Braves last year.

Fun facts to know and tell:  the home opener against the Braves was also the largest crowd to ever see a Marlins regular season home game.

If you decide to go by and see our very good friends Dex and jbox plus the rest of the gang at Gaslamp Ball do remember, they are all laid back Southern Californians and aggressive trash talk will yield little or no response, other than confusion on their part.  So it's best to just be nice to our friends - everything else eludes them.

It's time to play Ichthyomancy.  So get your picks in and let's see if we add some new names to the standings table.  Nothing would make me happier.

Here's today's ichthyomancy pick table:
