Willis couldn't Caravan

If you were one of the 200 plus individuals who made it out to Jupiter to meet and greet the Marlins Caravan and were wondering why Dontrelle wasn't among those in attendance as had been advertised.

He was testing his skills against some of the finest up and coming young talent in baseball.

Dontrelle Willis pulled on his Marlins uniformTuesday, walked out to the mound at Roger Dean Stadium and faced hitters for the first time this spring.

His opponents: Little Leaguers from Boynton Beach as part of a segment that will appear on ABC-TV's Extreme Makeover: Home Edition reality show.

"They were wearing me out,'' a smiling Willis said after a pickup game, "but that's something they'll talk about the rest of their lives. Just helping people, spending time with these kids and seeing how much their families enjoyed it up in the stands. That's what it's about.''

While you maybe a little disappointed in not getting to see the A-Train, your sacrifice allowed some kids to have a dream come true.

I have no idea what this ABC-TV's Extreme Makeover: Home Edition reality show is about or when it aires.  But I'm hoping that there will be some advance press before the debut.
