I don't understand how someone in his position can be so void of diplomatic skills.

Marlins president David Samson remained noncommittal about the team's future Wednesday in a speech at a Greater Miami Chamber of Commerce luncheon at Parrot Jungle.

-----

He said owner Jeffrey Loria called him on the way to the luncheon and said ``what are you going to say? Are you going to inform them that if they don't get a stadium built, the team is going to leave? Are you going to inform them that if they don't come to games the team is going to leave? Are you going to inform them that the contribution from the team is the fourth-largest in the history of baseball in a market that has never proven to be completely baseball friendly? I said I probably wouldn't mention those things.''

Well, other than you just did.  I can't believe this is the strategy they are still continuing to use.  While everyone loves to be hounded, beaten over the head and told that it is all their fault, it could be time for a new tactic since this one hasn't worked in, oh, franchise history.

This is not, How to Win Friends and Influence People.
