Willy Taveras and Felix Pie are off the possible center fielders list. Pie not being on the market doesn't surprise me at all. But for the Astros to basically pull Taveras, that does. Not that I want him. Also, the Pirates have pulled Chris Duffy from trade consideration.
Since Wes Helms is now a Phillie, first base could be Jacobs all season long. Right now the team is indicating that Jason Stokes will be the insurance policy, bad wrists and all. Please Mike, learn to hit left handers.
