The Plan

Jack had this to say:

Manager Jack McKeon said the Marlins didn't want to make things easy for Patterson.

"We took him deep into the counts," McKeon said. "That was one of our better games for making him pitch
.
"We're always up there swinging at first pitches and making outs, but we took him deep into the count."

The Braves have been doing this to us for years.  When they are up against a good starter they work the pitch count.  Hoping to get him out of the game by about the 6th and then beat the bullpen.  For this to work, of course, you have to keep the other team within striking distance and they have always had the staff to do that.

Now finally, finally, our team gets everyone on the same page and actually executes a well thought out game plan.

Be still my heart.
