Like with the All-Star game, I'm always amazed at how many former Marlins are in the post-season each year. This is just off the top of my head, but it feels like there will be fewer former Marlins to watch this year than in recent years.
But maybe we can cheer for some former Fish this year.
Here's who I came up with (off the top of my head) from the likely playoff teams. Feel free to add others in the comments (I'll update the list):
National League
Astros
Charlton Jimerson (UM)
Braves
Jay Powell
Cardinals
Julian Tavarez, John Mabry, David Eckstein (UF)
Padres
Trevor Hoffman, Chris Hammond, Rudy Seanez
American League
Angels
None
Indians
None
Red Sox
Kevin Millar, Edgar Renteria, Matt Clement, Matt Mantei, Alex Cora (UM)
White Sox
Ozzie Guillen (Manager), Tim Raines (Coach), Pablo Ozuna, Carl Everett
Yankees
Gary Sheffield, Kevin Brown, Carl Pavano, Alois Leiter, Aaron Small
Ok, so the list was small and I cheated to include guys with Florida ties. And yes, I left off Mike Hampton (did he ever even put on a Marlins jersey at a press conference?) and high schoolers like Chipper Jones.
