The End

Today is a bittersweet day for me. It's the end of the baseball season, so that's sad. The White Sox won the World Series, and I'm pretty happy about that.

It's also my last day at FishStripes. This site has been a lot of fun and I've enjoyed it immensely, but I just don't have the time to dedicate to it that it deserves.

FishStripes will continue on without me. Not only will my writing be replaced upgraded, but the entire SBNation should continue to grow - and grow quickly. I'm sure that when I check in I'll find that the site and the network have grown tremendously.

Effective immediately, Craig is taking over the site on a full-time basis. Those of you who have been around the site for awhile already know that Craig has been the backbone of this site from the beginning. I didn't know Craig when I started FishStripes. I don't even think he read my old site. But he became a contributor to the site immediately. Craig always adds great insight and I'm sure he will do a great job in taking FishStripes to the next level.

While I won't be writing on FishStripes anymore, I will check in a lot to see what's going on, to comment, and all like that. I will also be writing at my old site (The Book of Mike) from time to time, like I did in 2003 and 2004. The updates won't be as regular as they were over here, and I'll likely write about a wider variety of topics. But you'll still be able to find me over there if you want to.

It has really been a lot of fun. Thank you to everyone for reading, writing, emailing, IM'ing, and all like that. I started out blogging just to force myself to write on a regular basis. Then something of an audience developed. That's been strange for me, but I've really enjoyed it. And, just because I won't be writing here regularly, don't feel like you have to start ignoring me. Keep the emails coming (although the venom-filled "Mike-you're-an-idiot" notes can stop now, please).

I'll stop rambling and wrap this up: it's been a lot of fun and I've really enjoyed it here. I hope that you have too. If you have, great. If you haven't, stick around - I'm sure things will only improve. SBNation is a great network and I leave FishStripes in good hands.

Go Fish!
