I caught the Herald's Kevin Baxter on MLB on XM (Charley Steiner's show). He made some interesting comments:
- Mike Lowell used to have a personal trainer and/or chef as recently as the 2003 season. Baxter doesn't think he employs that person anymore and wonders if that has anything to do with Mike's rough year.
- Baxter thinks that since the deal with the O's fell through, Burnett will stay with the Fish for the rest of the year.
- McKeon has provisions in his contract (or at least a verbal agreement with Loria) which guarantee him something (money, I suppose) if he's dismissed from the team mid-season.
- Now that Jack survived the West Coast trip, Baxter thinks Jack's job is safe.
