Open Thread and Ichthyomancy: Mets at Marlins (5/28)

TIME: 6:05 @ JRS

                             vs.
            METS                                       MARLINS
Kaz Ishii (0-3, 5.59)                   Dontrelle Willis (8-1, 1.55)

The Braves lost last night too, so the Fish are still in first place - at least for today.

Lefties galore tonight. Ishii represents the first of four lefty starters that the Marlins will face in the next four days. I think the Marlins' starter is a lefty too.

Is it just me, or does everyone feel like Carlos Delgado is pretty much guaranteed to get a hit each time he faces a pitcher for the third time in a game? That book of his is gold. (Actually, Delgado's season line is .317/.397/.567. In his first at bat against a pitcher it's .261/.369/.466. His best line comes the second time he sees a pitcher - .405/.455/.568. The third time around Delgado's line is .351/.400/.784. And so that I don't leave you hanging, in his two at bats the 4th plus time versus a pitcher, he has a robust line of .500/.500/1.000 (which is just one-for-two with a double). Geek yourself out with splits.

For ichtyhomancy, I'm taking Delgado, despite the frequent lefty-lefty matchups he'll face. No caveats (the Heat don't play until tomorrow) for attendance tonight. It's Saturday night, Dontrelle's on the hill, and the Mets are in town, so I'll estimate 31,178.

Other Picks:
Double B - Willis
Wiggins - Lowell
