Marlins' Updates

Quite an exciting win last night, as the Fish came from behind and won in extra innings. Last night's win marked the first game the Marlins have won this year when they were trailing (or tied) after 8 innings; prior to last night they were 0 - 16 in such games.

A couple interesting notes from the Sun-Sentinel:

Mota made the second of back-to-back appearances for Class A Jupiter on Tuesday, allowing an unearned run on two hits and striking out three in 12/3 innings (26 pitches). Monday he gave up a hit and struck out a batter during an 11-pitch, scoreless inning. He should be activated before week's end.
  • No announcement, still, as to who will start in place of Burnett on Thursday. Some possibilities: recent callup Logan Kensing, former starter Nate Bump, and a few minor leaguers, most notably - Yorman Barzado (one of the Marlins top prospects) or journeyman Frank Castillo (who is scheduled to start on Thursdsay - in the minors - anyway).
  • This seems to be both a warning and a sales pitch:
The fourth annual Bark at the Park will take place Thursday night. Fans can bring their pooches to the game and treat them to paw art stations, doggy treats from Doggy Ice Cream and a pet waste management area courtesy of When Doodie Calls.

Thankfully I don't have to answer the phone for the waste management company. I'm sure they have a horrible catch phrase

Has anyone been to Bark at the Park night? I've never made it out to the park for dog night.
