Marlins Win, Willis Dominates

Well, it's late/early and I'm tired, so this will be short and sweet...

Dontrelle had a great start for his 2005 debut tonight.  A complete game shutout is always a good thing.  That he walked only one was even better.  Getting two hits and knocking in two runs was icing on the cake (they even brought in a reliever to face him in the 9th).

It was also like old times at Dolphins Stadium tonight.  Well, old times if you can have that sort of thing at a newly re-named ball park and when the old times are led by a 23-year old (Willis) and 21-year old (Cabrera).  It sure felt like 2003 again tonight.

Cabrera hit two home runs.  His second, hit in the 8th inning, was the farthest I've ever seen a ball hit live at Dolphins/Pro Player/Joe Robbie Stadium.  Andres Galarraga hit a ball into the upper deck a few years back - he was with the Rockies and they still had that covering over the seats back then.  Cabrera's shot wasn't pulled as much, so it might have gone farther.  It went a few rows above the Joe Robbie marker on the Dolphins Ring of Honor... can't wait to see a replay of that.

Well, I'm off to bed.  More tomorrow (later today)...
