Hopefully it won't be too often that we see a solid (if not outstanding) outing by the fifth starter go to waste. Brian Moehler pitched a great game yesterday. It's just a shame the offense didn't back him up.
I suppose some credit is due to the Reds' Brandon Claussen. We'll have to keep an eye on him the rest of the year and see how many more shut out innings he puts up.
Juan Pierre going 0-for-5 is probably not something we'll see again anytime soon. One or two hits from Juan yesterday - especially in his 9th inning AB - could have been enough to make the difference.
Oh well, you can't win them all.
Today's an off day. And I'm nervous about this trip to Colorado. The pitching has been so solid so far this year. Now we'll get to see if the pitchers are as mentally prepared as they have been physically all season.
