From today's Herald (which delivered a brief paper yesterday, despite the lack of power throughout the area):
Pirates free agent closer Jose Mesa (27 saves), who lives in Miramar, hopes Florida considers him if Todd Jones leaves.
I guess I need an agent. My agent would tell all 30 teams that I'm interested in pitching for them next year.
Really. I am. And I wouldn't cost a team many more games than Jose Mesa.
Oh - and there's stadium news in that same article too. Earth to people - this hurricane thing that just came through town effectively ended the Marlins hopes of finding the last few million they need to close the funding gap. That money will be spent elsewhere now. I'm not sure of it, but I'd almost guarantee it.
