LCS Open Thread and Ichthyomancy - 10/11

The American League Championship Series gets underway tonight in Chicago. The Angels will have logged a lot of frequent flyer miles by the time they touchdown in Chicago and the Sox are likely counting on that as an advantage in tonight's game. It's tough to say if it will really count for anything. The White Sox are likely about as rusty as the Angels are tired.

Here's today's matchup:

AL - 8:20: Angels (Byrd) at White Sox (Contreras)

Some interesting notes on the White Sox: they have never won a best-of-seven game series. When the Sox won the 1917 World Series, it was best-of-9. In addition, in their history, the Sox have never played the full length of a series (i.e. the 7th game in a best-of-seven). None of that has any bearing (at least not yet) on the ALCS, but I thought it was interesting.

And the playoffs wouldn't be complete without ichthyomancy (I'm assuming that folks want to reset their standing picks):
