Spring Training bench clearing brawls

Don't know if you have heard about the bench clearing brawl recently between the Rays and Yankees.  As it turns out this isn't an uncommon occurrence during the spring.  In fact, Ben Volin did a little research and came up with this tidbit that I had completely forgotten about.

March 10, 2003: The Marlins and Expos got testy after Brad Penny hit Vladimir Guerrero in the chest with his second pitch of the at-bat. Catcher Matt Treanor tried to restrain Guerrero, but Guerrero got close enough to swing - and miss - at Penny with his bat. Penny missed with a punch, and both benches cleared. Penny earned a five-game suspension, while Guerrero and Jose Macias each got two games.

Ah, the joys of spring.
