Googling the Marlins

WPLG got the data as to which baseball team the good citizens of Miami google.

And the New York transplants living in Miami still follow baseball back home. Miami is the seventh city worldwide searching "Mets," and third searching "Yankees," a team that drums up more interest among Miami Googlers than our own Marlins.

This really isn't surprising, but it is still sad nonetheless.

The top google searching cities for the Marlins are:

(Top cities searching for "Marlins" are Ft. Lauderdale, Delray Beach, and Boca Raton. Miami comes in fourth.)

I bet Miami would look really bad if the per capita numbers were reported, instead of just the raw the number of searches.

But it is what it is for now.  And hopefully one day that will all change.  But in the meantime, a big shout-out goes to Ft. Lauderdale, Delray Beach and Boca Raton -- You're the Best!
