Marlins Intrasquad Game

Yesterday the Marlins took to the main field  at  Roger Dean Stadium.

The pitchers took the worst end of it in Monday's intrasquad game, but they were only allowed to throw fastballs and changeups. Still, center fielder Cameron Maybin looked sharp, ripping two singles and a double in his first three at-bats. First baseman Gaby Sanchez looked good at the plate and even better in the field, where he made a diving catch of a foul ball for the play of the day.

It's not surprising given the parameters by which they played the game that the hitters would prevail.  However it was a pretty good idea to limit the pitchers to just fastbals and changeups.  The breaking balls will come later in camp. Though a few could be thrown today.

Odd...
The Marlins.com story had Maybin with two hits, not three.

Spring Training for the writers too I guess.
