Around SBN: Dana White: Carlos Condit Accepts Rematch With Nick Diaz

Ramirez suffers no severe damage

Hanley was hit on his hand in an AB which is one good way to get your hand broken. But he is going to be fine.

...Hanley Ramirez appeared to be hit by a pitch earlier in the game, though he wasn't awarded first base.

Ramirez writhed in pain after John Maine's pitch seemed to hit him on the left hand in the fourth inning, but plate umpire C.B. Bucknor ruled it a foul ball off the knob of the bat. Ramirez, the NL Rookie of the Year last season, knelt on the ground as he was checked by a trainer.

After a brief delay while he gathered himself, Ramirez struck out swinging on the next pitch and lost his grip on the bat, which sailed past third base into shallow left field.

X-rays on Ramirez's left hand were negative.

C.B. Bucknor missed a call?!  I'm shocked.  Shocked, I tell you.

He has always been so good up 'til now and definitely a favorite of the players and the fans. </sarcasm>

Now back to Hanley, Dan posted a quote that is attributed to Hanley, but I could find the original source.  However, even if it's not accurate, it works for today.  And anyway the documented truth is not always needed when one is talking about the stuff that legends are made of.

Oh, and I almost forgot, Olivo gives his side to "the fight" with his good buddy Reyes.  I must say this about "the fight", it was the first one I have ever seen take place during a pitching change.  That doesn't happen often.

Come to think about it, the team didn't help out with my restful weekend either.

[Update] Dan provides the documentation about Hanley's quote in the comments. Too Cool.

Hanley's quote
At the end of ESPN's article, though I first saw it looking over Metsblog.
