According to ESPN's Jayson Stark, the Marlins are "working hard" to move Carlos Zambrano and Carlos Lee. He also says Ricky Nolasco is eminently available.
I'd be the first to tell you I don't know what happened with regard to the stadium, so I ask those smarter than me: Does this journalist have a point? If so, why isn't there more outrage regarding ownership's tactics.
IMO an outstanding return. Also apparently Ken Rosenthal is reporting there might be more to this trade. Unfortunately now there is a gap at 2B. Also as more reports have come in the official trade (well not official yet) is.... A. Sanchez, Infante and #Marlins comp pick for Turner, Brantly, Flynn and #Tigers comp pick. Brantly is a 23 year old catcher at AAA. Great showing at AA this year for about 150 ABS. Maybe one of the top catching prospects in the game. Flynn is a 22 year old pitcher who just debuted at AA (Drafted last year) . I don't know much about him.
It's rumored that the Marlins may be sending Heath "Mayhem" Bell and Hanley Ramirez to Boston for Carl Crawford. The move would alleviate some the Logan Morrison in LF problem, but that also leaves us with a LoMo/Caballo platoon at 1B, and Greg Dobbs played 3B... or Crawford in CF and Bonifacio at 3B. I'm curious to see what fell Fish Stripers make of the rumor.
Here's an interesting read on pitcher pace from Baseball Nation. We knew as Fish fans that Mark Buehrle cruises, but how does he stack against the league in pace? (H/T to Jeff Sullivan)
A bit of discontent between the "Miami" teams and...the Panthers?
