Cosart, Bour among six Marlins to change numbers

1

As Spring Training approaches, some felt the need to change the digits on their uniforms. According to the official MLB.com transaction page, six Marlins changed numbers. Justin Bour changed from 48 to 41, Jarred Cosart went higher, going from 23 to 59, Tomas Telis traded in his 11 jersey for 18, as J.T. Realmuto gave up 20 for 11, while Justin Nicolino grabbed 20, handing in 60, which Raudel Lazo swiped, switching from 58. While the digit replacements were likely coordinated, it shows you what athletes will do for some numbers on their backs. One can only speculate as to the reasoning for the mass change in numbers.
