Michael Jong

Manager

Michael Jong has been a Marlins fan since its first World Series victory in 1997. He freely admits to having jumped on the World Series bandwagon the first time, but is proud to say that he never left since then. Michael withstood the lean times in the post-fire sale era of the Marlins, which made experiencing the Fish throughout their 2003 World Series season all the more satisfying. Since 2003, Michael has kept following the team on and off but was intrigued by sabermetrics and advanced analysis of the game in 2008. After a year of familiarizing himself with some of the basics of sabermetrics, Michael began the Marlin Maniac blog over at FanSided and spent two and a half years blogging for Marlin Maniac. In November, Michael took over Fish Stripes and has been here for a year, providing quality Marlins analysis and insight on his favorite team. Michael has also written for Baseball Prospectus and Beyond the Box Score in the past.
