In a crucial start against a tough opponent, Brad Penny ran into some trouble Wednesday at Principal Park. A five-run fifth allowed the Cubs to pull away. With two outs and runners on first and third, Ed Lucas allowed Kris Bryant to reach on an error and the Cubs follows with three straight hits. Three of the four runs scored by New Orleans came via a Kyle Jensen bases clearing double in the eighth.
Double-A: Jacksonville Suns W 9-4 vs. Birmingham Barons

Getting the start at third base the day after catching the entire game, Austin Barnes had a tremendous day at the plate to lead the Suns to a win on Wednesday. Another player that shined was J.T. Realmuto who not only drove in three runs but also stole his 12th bag of the year. Wins like this prove why the Suns are sitting at nine games over .500.

Jupiter played a very complete game Wednesday in Lakeland to pick up their 35th win of the season. Viosergy Rosa, who is having another fantastic season, hit his 11th homer of the year and Colin Moran added three hits. Jake Eschhad starred in his fifth straight start in which he has allowed two runs or less and Reid Redman looked strong in two innings to pick up the save.
Low Class-A: Greensboro Grasshoppers L 6-10 @ Asheville Tourists
J.T. Riddle, SS: 3-for-5, 2B, HR (7), 2 RBI
Cody Crabaugh, SP: 6 IP, 6 H, 4 ER, 2 BB, 2 K
Greensboro committed three errors in a hard fought loss against a tough Asheville lineup. Cody Crabaugh was outstanding after a four run first inning.
Short-Season: Batavia Muckdogs L 0-3 @ Williamsport Crosscutters
K.J. Woods, LF: 2-for-4
Chris Sadberry, SP: 4 IP, 5 H, 2 ER, 1 BB, 5 K
Former Texas Tech lefty Chris Sadberry struck out five in four innings but his offense couldn't provide him with any run support Wednesday night in Williamsport. 2013 fourth-round pick K.J. Woods had two hits on the night.
