After leaving his last start early, Henderson Alvarez was confident he would be able to make his next start and will do so on Tuesday night against the Rays. Before his departure against the Nationals, Alvarez gave up five hits and struck out two in five innings.
Chris Archer was efficient in his last start, during which he went six innings and gave up six hits and two runs against Toronto.

Miami has been troubled by the inability to add runs late in games, but three runs was sufficient against the Rays on Monday. Ed Lucas gets the start at second base in place of Derek Dietrich, who has been benched because of his defensive inconsistencies.
J.T. Realmuto's major league debut will have to wait, with Jeff Mathis getting the start behind the plate.
Kevin Kiermaier will be in center field and leadoff spot for the Rays, with David DeJesus batting third and getting the start in left.
-Will Alvarez stay healthy? With Jose Fernandez on the disabled list, the Marlins can't afford to lose another starter.
-Can the bottom of the order produce? While Giancarlo Stanton and Casey McGehee have kept Miami's offense in tact, the struggles of Adeiny Hechavarria and the bottom of the order have hurt the offense.
Bold Prediction: Marlins def. Rays 6-3
