Triple-A: New Orleans Zephyrs
L 0-2 vs. Colorado Springs Sky Sox
Jake Marisnick, CF: 0-for-4, SO
Adam Conley, SP: 7.0 IP, 2 H, R, BB, 8 SO
Carter Capps, RP: 1.0 IP, 3 H, R, ER, BB, 2 SO
After something of a rude awakening in the Pacific Coast League, Adam Conley has looked better in each consecutive start. His strikeout totals have risen, while his walks have decreased. While his season 5.24 ERA looks awful, his peripherals tell a different story. Conley has 25 strikeouts and just 7 walks in 22 and a third innings pitched.
Double-A: Jacksonville Suns
W 5-4 vs. Pensacola Blue Wahoos
Alfredo Silverio, RF: 1-for-3, R, 2B, 2 BB, SO
Jacob Realmuto, C: 3-for-5, 2 R
Andrew Heaney, SP: 7.0 IP, 3 H, R, ER, 9 SO
Nick Wittgren blew Jacksonville's three run lead in the top of the ninth, forcing the game into extra-innings. The Suns quickly turned the situation around, however, as Jacob Realmuto singled in the bottom of the inning, stole second, and then scored on Rich Pothyress's single.
High Class A: Jupiter Hammerheads
L 0-4 @ Bradenton Marauders
Rafael Furcal, 2B: 0-for-4, SO
Austin Barnes, C: 1-for-4 , 2 SO
Trevor Williams, SP: 6.0 IP, 7 H, 4 R, 3 ER, BB, 6 SO
The Hammerheads were utterly flummoxed by Marauders starter Chad Kuhl, who allowed just three baserunners in six innings. This wasted a solid effort from Trevor Williams, who received a loss after striking out six in six innings pitched.
Low Class A: Greensboro Grasshoppers
W 2-1 vs. Delmarva Shorebirds
Austin Dean, DH: 2-for-4, 2B, BB
Avery Romero, 2B: 0-for-4, SO
Max Garner, SP: 6.0 IP, 4 H, 2 BB, 8 SO
Max Garner held Greensboro's slim lead for six scoreless innings, only for Sean Donatello to allow the Shorebirds to tie the game in the seventh. The Grasshoppers would eventually win in the eleventh inning off Austin Dean's walk off double.
