Full Box Score

Chris Valaika, SS: 0-for-5, SO
Kevin Kouzmanoff, 3B: 2-for-5, 2B, SO

Jay Jackson, SP: 5.2 IP, 9 H, 4 R, 2 ER, 2 BB, 6 SO, HR

The Zephyrs took an early lead off a Kevin Kouzmanoff double, which they would hold for five innings until Jay Jackson imploded. Jackson allowed a homer, then a double, and a single. Nick Green's fielding error only worsened the situation. The offense managed to tie the game up again, but the Zephyrs eventually fell in extra-innings.

Full Box Score

Justin Nicolino, SP: 6.0 IP, 4 H, R, ER, 6 SO

Justin Nicolino out-dueled top Dodgers prospect Zach Lee in his third and by far most successful Double-A start. The game was abbreviated due to rain, allowing Nicolino to finish with a complete game. His ERA in the Southern League fell to 6.43.

Full Box Score

Alex Burg, RF: 2-for-5, 2 R, HR, 3 SO

Viosergy Rosa hit his 21st home run of the season, raising his overall line to .267/.366/.492. His batting line for the past ten games stands at .361/.425/.611. Rosa has been the strongest hitter in the Grasshoppers lineup this year.

Full Box Score

Avery Romero, 2B: 1-for-3, R, BB, SO

Javier Lopez, DH: 0-for-4, 3 SO

Chad Wallach, this year's fifth round draft selection, has struggled mightily in Batavia, batting .179/.281/.214 in 25 games. The Marlins demoted Ryan Aper to the Gulf Coast League after he had similar struggles, which may indicate that a demotion is coming for Wallach unless he makes the necessary adjustments.

K.J. Woods, LF: 1-for-4
