Get out the broom breakers, because the Miami Marlins are looking to bust up a sweep.
The Marlins have lost two oddly high-scoring games against the San Francisco Giants, so the team will look to avoid the sweep. The problem is that their matchup is a difficult one, as the Giants send the player who could be their best starter in Madison Bumgarner out against the player who is probably the Marlins' worst, Tom Koehler.

Tom Koehler has a 3.99 FIP and has done an admirable job trying to be the team's fifth starter, but his future with the team is closer to the bullpen rather than as a starter. Meanwhile, Bumgarner may have surpassed Matt Cain and Tim Lincecum as the Giants' best starter, as he has been fantastic this season. Not a good matchup for Miami.

Justin Ruggiano's last two games have convinced manager Mike Redmond to give him a chance to play today against the lefty Bumgarner. Ruggiano had three hits in his previous start against the Kansas City Royals, and then he put up two home runs and a double in four plate appearances in the 14-10 loss to the Giants two days ago.
- I will not be around for today's game, as I'll be entertaining a friend coming over to visit.
