Jake Marisnick has come a long way since the beginning of the year. He missed time to due to injury, then started off slowly with a .738 on-base plus slugging (OPS) in May. He showed great improvement in June, posting a .957 OPS. That number wasn't a fluke, however, as he now has a .947 OPS in July. Marisnick's three extra-base hit night raises his overall line to .295/.357/.504.

Andrew Heaney delivered his fourth consecutive scoreless start. He hasn't maintained his sterling striking rate during that same period, but he hasn't walked many batters or allowed many hits. The streak has dropped his ERA to 0.97.

The Muckdogs fell behind early, but battled back to take the lead in the eighth, scoring on a bases-loaded walk. Unfortunately, they surrendered the lead in the bottom half of the inning. The game finally went into extra-innings, where the Cyclones hit a walk-off single to end it.
