W 7-6 @ Iowa Cubs
Kevin Kouzmanoff, 1B: 4-for-7, 2 2B, HR (1), 4 RBI
A.J. Battisto, SP: 2 IP, 7 H, 6 ER, 3 BB, 1 K
Thanks to a leadoff Paul Gran triple in the 13th inning, the Zephyrs were able to pull off a huge victory over Iowa. Kevin Kouzmanoff had a monster day at the plate, collecting three extra-base hits including his first homer of the year. The Zephyrs improve to 26-29 on the season.
Double-A: Jacksonville Suns
W 7-1 @ Pensacola Blue Wahoos
Logan Morrison, 1B: 1-for-5, HR (1), 2 RBI
Christian Yelich, LF: 2-for-5, RBI
Kyle Jensen, RF: 1-for-4, HR (8), RBI
Adam Conley, SP: 5.2 IP, 5 H, 1 ER, 3 BB, 6 K
Arquimedes Caminero, RP: 2 IP, 0 H, 0 ER, 0 BB, 2 K
Adam Conley pitched very well against a weak Pensacola lineup, almost going six one-run innings. Arquimedes Caminero also looked very good, coming out of the bullpen. Logan Morrison and Kyle Jensen both homered for Jacksonville. It is a little disappointing that Morrison has been struggling to get on base for during his rehab appearances, but hopefully he is just taking a little extra time to get his timing down. Jacksonville improves to 29-24 with the win.
High Class-A: Jupiter Hammerheads
Game @ Bradenton postponed due to rain.
Low Class-A: Greensboro Grasshoppers
W 6-4 @ Delmarva Shorebirds
Cameron Flynn, LF: 2-for-4, 2B, 2 RBI
Jesus Solorzano, DH: 2-for-5, SB (15)
Ramon Del Orbe, SP: 2 IP, 3 H, 3 R, 0 ER, 2 BB, 2 K
Dane Stone, RP: 3 IP, 0 H, 0 ER, 0 BB, 4 K, SV (1)
Greensboro scored four runs in the third inning to defeat Lucas Herbst and the Delmarva Shorebirds. Jesus Solorzano stole his seventh base in the last ten days. It has been great to see Greensboro Manager Jorge Hernandez give Solorzano the green light so frequently, and to see Solorzano make the most of his opportunities on the basepaths.
