The Miami Marlins will square off versus the Milwaukee Brewers in the second of their three-game series in Miami. The Fish are recovering from an ugly loss to the Brewers last night and are hoping that Jacob Turner can lead them to a better game.
Pitching Matchup
Proj Win% | Proj ERA | FIP | ERA | Marlins | Brewers | ERA | FIP | Proj ERA | Proj Win% |
---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
.391 | 4.99 | 3.14 | 0.69 | Turner | Peralta | 6.16 | 4.48 | 4.71 | .418 |
Jacob Turner has a 0.69 ERA and an equally solid 3.14 FIP. So why is it that I get the feeling that he is shaky at the major league level right now? Well, his last start featured four strikeouts and four walks, so that does not help, and he has yet to realize his strikeout potential or show off his control pedigree.
Wily Peralta was a nice prospect, but he's looking like a rich man's Chris Volstad right now, and nobody wants to be anything related to Chris Volstad.
Lineup
Order | Player | Proj wOBA vs. RHP |
---|---|---|
1 | Juan Pierre | .292 |
2 | Ed Lucas | --- |
3 | Giancarlo Stanton | .395 |
4 | Marcell Ozuna | .307 |
5 | Logan Morrison | .349 |
6 | Derek Dietrich | .310 |
7 | Adeiny Hechavarria | .274 |
8 | Jeff Mathis | .255 |
9 | Pitcher | --- |
I'd like to say that this isn't a half-bad lineup, but Jeff Mathis is playing against a right-handed pitcher again and Justin Ruggiano is on the bench. Juan Pierre and Jeff Mathis are playing and Justin Ruggiano is on the bench. Sigh.
Notes
- I will be around for a very short time in tonight's game, as I will be continuing to study for my upcoming test. Stick around in the early stage, gang.
Bold Prediction: Marlins def. Brewers 5-3
