Fish Cap: Miami Marlins 1, Milwaukee Brewers 6

Marc Serota

The Marlins lost a defeating game to Milwaukee, as Yovani Gallardo reigned over the Marlins for eight shutout innings.

The Brewers got to Ricky Nolasco early, and he never really recovered from a rough inning. In the third inning, Nolasco left an 81 mile per hour slider up in the zone, and Weeks clobbered it into the left field bleachers. In total, Nolasco went five and one-third innings, giving up 10 hits, four earned runs, with two walks, and five strikeouts.

Nolasco seemed to struggle putting his offspeed pitches, in particular his slider, in the spot he wanted it. His start on Monday was his first outing in which he did not record a quality start since May 14th. Nolasco will try to get back on track when he faces the Cardinals this upcoming weekend.

Stanton Returns

Playing in his first Major League game since April 29th, Giancarlo Stanton went 1-for-4. Even though he wasn't of much help against Gallardo, it was great to see Stanton take the field in a Marlins jersey. With all of the rumors swirling around about Stanton being traded, Marlins fans need to go out and watch their beloved slugger play, before it's too late.

Looking Ahead

The Marlins will take on the Brewers again tomorrow at 7:10 PM EST. In a matchup of promising young pitchers, Wily Peralta of the Brewers will take on Jacob Turner of the Marlins. For Turner, this outing will be a big test to see if his last two starts were for real.
