Miami Marlins Daily Minor League Report: May 10

Scott Rovak-USA TODAY Sports

New Orleans defeated Salt Lake in a 10th inning walk-off victory, Bryan Petersen homered and doubled, and Anthony DeSclafani struck out eight batters in five and one-third innings pitched.

Triple-A: New Orleans Zephyrs
W 3-2 vs. Salt Lake Bees

Bryan Petersen, RF: 2-for-3, 1 R, 1 2B, 1 HR, 1 BB, 1 SO

Brad Hand, SP: 4.2 IP, 6 H, 1 R, 1 ER, 4 BB, 4 SO
Chris Hatcher, RP: 3.0 IP, 3 H, 1 R, 1 ER, 1 BB, 3 SO

New Orleans and Salt Lake were locked in a tight competition for ten innings on Sunday afternoon. Gorkys Hernandez finally ended the game with a walk-off sacrifice fly.

Bryan Petersen hit his second home run and tenth double, raising his season line to .282/.386/.460.

Double-A: Jacksonville Suns
W 1-0 vs. Pensacola Blue Wahoos

Jake Marisnick, CF: 2-for-4, 1 SO
Kyle Jensen, RF: 0-for-4, 2 SO
Noah Perio, 2B: 1-for-3, 1 2B

Robert Morey, SP: 6.0 IP, 1 H, 0 R, 2 BB, 5 SO

Kyle Jensen's hit-less game lowered his season line to .224/.354/.383 - an uninspiring performance from a 25-year-old repeating Double-A. He has struck out in 25 percent of plate appearances this year.

Jacksonville's game against Pensacola remained scoreless through eight innings. Ryan Fisher walked to lead off the bottom of the ninth, advancing to third base off a sacrifice bunt and a ground out. Audy Ciriaco then hit a line drive single to right field, scoring Fisher, and ending the game.

High Class A: Jupiter Hammerheads
L 2-5 vs. Fort Myers Miracle

Brent Keys, LF: 2-for-5
Isaac Galloway, CF: 2-for-5, 1 R, 1 HR, 2 SO
Austin Nola, SS: 1-for-4, 1 BB, 1 SO

Anthony DeSclafani, SP: 5.1 IP, 3 H, 1 R, 1 ER, 1 BB, 8 SO, 1 HR

Anthony DeSclafani struck out a season high eight batters, while walking only one. His sole earned run actually raised his season ERA to 0.87. The 23-year-old right-hander also struck out Miguel Sano twice. Baseball America ranked Miguel Sano as the ninth best prospect in baseball this off-season.

Jupiter eventually lost in the eleventh inning, as reliever Tyler Higgins surrendered three runs to Fort Myers.

Low Class A: Greensboro Grasshoppers
L 3-10 vs. Lakewood BlueClaws

Alfredo Lopez, 2B: 2-for-5, 1 2B
Jesus Solorzano, RF: 1-for-4, 1 R, 1 2B

Scott Lyman, SP: 2.2 IP, 5 H, 7 R, 7 ER, 4 BB, 2 SO, 3 HR

Jesus Solorzano's two-run double raised his season line to .274/.325/.416.

Greensboro simply could not contain the Lakewood offense yesterday. After allowing a two-run homer in the first inning, Scott Lyman gave up back-to-back home runs to begin the third inning. Lyman was finally removed when he walked three batters to load the bases, bringing in reliever Chipper Smith. All of Smith's inherited runners scored when he gave up a grand slam to Chace Numata.
