The Miami Marlins jumped out to an early 2-0 lead, and with Jacob Turner looking decent on the mound, this game against the Atlanta Braves had the makings of a competitive matchup. The Fish had pushed a hefty pitch count onto Braves starter Tommy Hanson as well, limiting his chances of later-inning success.
But the fourth inning was the Marlins' undoing, and when it rained, it poured for the Marlins. The Braves' middle and bottom of the order took advantage with some well-timed hits, but it seemed Turner was going to be close to escaping with only the tied game. With two outs, Turner faced leadoff Jose Constanza but walked him. Despite that, Martin Prado quickly got behind 0-2 in the count before hitting a soft line drive to left field. Bryan Petersen had a beat on the ball, but it smacked his glove and fell out, leading to 4-2 lead the Braves never relinquished.
From there, the bullpen allowed two more runs, but it became elementary as the Marlins struggled to put anything on the board after the fourth. The Fish have now lost seven straight games.
