Live in NC

Was born in Miami. My father was a die-hard Yankee fan, being from New York. I grew up loving baseball, and the Marlins were the local team. So while I was a yankee fan, I still grew up cheering for the Marlins. In 2003, Me and my father went to one game each of the NLDS, NLCS (Beckett’s 2 hit gem), and even the world series(dont remember which game, but the Yankees won).

I moved away from Miami with my family about 6 years ago. In that time, I have become less and less of a yankee fan and more and more of a Marlins fan.

Born and raised in Miami

but I’ve been in the San Francisco bay area for the past 3 years for college. I was at the marlins giants game where Cousins blew up Posey and won the game for us in extras. I had to put my jacket back on to cover up my marlins shirt, i was sure all the drunk kids around me where going to turn on me.
I’m looking forward to moving back to Miami this summer and catching as many games in the new ballpark as possible!

Live in Portland, OR

Grew up in Miami but recently moved out west. Portland is technically in Mariners country, but there isn’t too much love for them out here, so it’s easy to stay focused on the Fish.

Currently in Groton, CT

My father’s side of the family is from Fort Pierce, FL, but I grew up in San Diego because of his service in the Navy. So I grew up liking the Dolphins and Padres until 1993 when I swapped to the Fish. In CT now because I joined the Navy myself and am stationed at the Sub base here.

Marlins in the off-season. Get some... Free agents, that is.

Currently in Miami Lakes, Florida

But I was born in Santa Claara, Cuba. I spent most of my youth in Jacksonville, Florida. I’ve also lived in New Jersey (USA,) Madrid (Spain) and Amsterdam (Netherlands.) Needless to say, I’ve lived in so many places in the US and overseas that I never spent enough time in any one place to become a fan of any particular baseball club.

The reason I’m a Miami Marlins fan is because that is the first baseball team I ever had the chance to actually attend a game, and from that day forward I was hooked on the Marlins. I have followed them closely no matter where I’ve lived. Even when I resided in Europe I would proudly wear my Florida Marlins jerseys and caps, though nobody had any idea who the Marlins were. People in Europe only seem to know the Yankees, and a few are familiar with the Mets.

Born and raised in So Cal

I’ve lived in Moreno Valley, California my whole life. People are always surprised when I tell them I am a huge marlins fan, and I don’t know any other fish fans in my area. I travel to San Diego every year when the marlins are in town and wear my fish gear proudly

Colorado,

But was going to school in Reno, Nevada for a while, so went to the AAA games whenever the Zephyrs were in town every other year.

Got a lot of family in West palm Beach, and would go to Marlins games when ever I visited in the summer.

Go Nevada Wolf Pack!

Currently back in south Florida (Weston, for you south Floridians out there)

I grew up here, but moved out to Gainesville for school. My parents moved up to Atlanta while I was in school, so I haven’t been back on a semi-permanent basis for six years. Of course, I spent some time in the Caribbean for medical school, as many of you readers may know.

Glad to see so much variety in us Fish fans! We want the community to look as vibrant and diverse as possible. Here’s hoping the regular season brings a lot more Marlins fans on the way!

Born and raised in England (just outside London) and after spending a lot of time travelling all over North America I ended up sticking around in Miami for a year or so when I ended up with a girlfriend. I adopted all the South Florida teams which obviously includes the Marlins. Even made it out to San Juan for that incredible Mets series in 2010.

It didn’t work out with the girl so I’ve been back in England for just over a year, but I buy the online passes for the 4 leagues so I can still watch Fish/Phins/Cats/Heat. Gutted I am missing out on the first season with the new ballpark, but I can still stay up cheering until 4am on my laptop and pretend I am still over there!!

Awesome thread by the way!
