Leo Nunez placed on restricted list

Leo Nunez is not with the club in Milwaukee.

According to a tweet by Marlins Media, he has been placed on the restricted list.

The today placed Leo Nunez on the restricted list. He is returning to the Dominican Republic to attend to personal matters.

Here is a pretty good breakdown of the meaning of the restricted list.

Restricted list

While Leo is on the list, the Marlins don't have to pay him, but probably will since he is leaving for a personal matter. Nor will he incur anymore service time. He also doesn't count against the 40-man roster. But when, if, he comes back he will be the property of the Marlins.

We wish Leo the best in what ever matter he is attending to.
