The Gulf Coast League championship will come down to a deciding third game Wednesday after the Marlins held the Yankees to three hits in a 9-2, Game 2 victory Tuesday, knotting up the best-of-3 series.
Marlins starter Austin Brice, Florida's ninth-round pick last summer, struck out six and held the Yankees to a pair of runs on two hits and two walks over five innings for the win in Tampa. Right-hander Luis Gomez worked the final four innings, limiting the New York affiliate to one hit and a walk to earn the save.
The deciding game will be held today on one of the back fields of the Jupiter complex. The game starts at noon and is free to the public. So if you don't have anything going on, head out to Jupiter. It should be fun.
